UNIS

Through the Sports Office, the College of Polytechnics is involved in the UNIS programme to support students with exceptional sports performance, which is administered by the VICTORIA University Sports Centre at the Ministry of Education. Check out the motivational video of the College of Polytechnics students who have also historically been included in this program.

According to the current terms of the UNIS challenge, a student with exceptional sporting performance is defined as a representative of the Czech Republic or an athlete enrolled in one of the departmental sports centres in the Czech Republic:

  • in an individual sport discipline included in the programme of the upcoming Summer Olympic
or Paralympic Games, the upcoming Winter Olympic or Paralympic Games
or the upcoming Summer or Winter Deaflympics,
  • in collegiate sports: baseball, basketball (incl. 3x3), curling, floorball, football, handball, ice hockey, field hockey, rugby, softball, water polo, volleyball (incl. beach volleyball), and collegiate sports from the field of disabled athletes included in the PH and DH.

In the year 2025, 3 students of the College of Polytechnics are included in the program (biathletes Aneta Novotná and Vladimír Kocmánek and football player Andrea Holá).

The task of the organizing team is to provide care for the student athletes. We want to support the quality of sports training and the associated increased need for regeneration through regeneration and rehabilitation means (e.g. massage, physiotherapy).

  • a nutritional advisor to assist with issues of ideal diet, proper lifestyle and appropriate choice of nutritional supplements given the students' sport specialism,
  • psychologist, who helps to address non-standard situations depending on the athlete's current performance and form, or depending on the period and success rate of study, through individual counseling and coaching for enrolled students,
  • sports material and training equipment,
  • educational events
    • within the framework of education about healthy lifestyle and the lifelong need for physical activities, another edition of the lecture "Body management not only for athletes" will be implemented.
  • diagnosis of the quality of movement of athletes and muscle activity during specific movement activities using the possibilities of school laboratories,
  • equipped physical activity classroom where athletes have the opportunity to engage in athletic training while attending school.
